What we believe and do:

We believe that all pets are special members of a household and should be given the best care humanly possible, especially when it comes to dogs.

For this reason, we decided we want to stay a small breeder of mini Aussies so we can give each and every pup the love, attention, and training we can.  The following is what we do to in order to provide the most socialized, happiest, healthiest, well-rounded miniature Australian Shepherd possible:

  • Pups are born in the house and are around humans from their first day of life.

  • Using puppy pads and frequent outdoor visits, we start potty training at 6 weeks old.

  • Keep the entire litter together until 8 weeks of age to promote appropriate canine socialization.

  • Use distraction (with dog toys, noise such as keys jingling, etc.) to divert puppies' attention to safer and less destructive behaviors

  • Tails are docked before 5 days old.  Aussie's tails can get in the way and can be dangerous for the dog, especially if it is working on a farm.

  • We do not ship puppies, but if you pay for a plane ticket in addition to price of the pup, we will fly your puppy to you, as long as the airline allows the pup to stay on the passenger level and we can find a mutually agreed upon flight day and time. We can also meet you at Denver International Airport with your puppy.

What you can expect to take home with your dog:

                       Some things to note:

-Although we do our best to provide you with the perfect companion, we cannot make any guarantees on the behavior or abilities of your dog, such as how easy potty training will be, etc.

-Once you have chosen a pup, a $200 deposit will hold it until it is ready to go home with you at 8 weeks of age.

-The adult weight and height your dog will reach cannot be guaranteed, only speculated, no matter what its previous and current measurements.

-Breeding rights can be granted for any dog for $100 and after completing a contract stating there will be no merle-to-merle breeding or puppy mill conditions for your Aussie and its pups.

When you choose a Potato Chip Mini Aussie to be your companion, we will provide you with the following to make the transition for you and your new buddy as smooth as possible:

  • Puppy progress report (tells the exact time born, birth order, and weight for the first few weeks)

  • Pet passport (vet records including dates of vaccinations, deworming and a health certificate)

  • Registration application for the American Stock Dog Registry.  (Every litter is registered before 8 weeks and assigned an ASDR pup number to show that they and their parents are purebred stock dogs. However, although it is optional for you to register, it is cool to see your dog's lineage-sometimes as far back as great-grandparents!

  • A blanket that smells like Mom and siblings.

  • A bear or other stuffed animal that has been in Mama dog's bed

  • Some kibble to last a few days so your puppy won't develop an upset tummy from an abrupt food change.

  • A rawhide bone

  • Our contact information in case you have any questions AND so you can keep us updated.  We always love to hear how you and your pups are doing!
